[b][i]On the 21/03/08 we had dinner at Waroeng Penyet which opens new outlet at Changi Village area.There's a story behind tis dinner in conjuction celebrating which I dun h've 2 elaborate further :P .Ayam Penyet dish came wif Rice + deep fried chicken + sambals,garnished wif fried tahu,tempeh,cucumbers+tomatoes & limes.The fried chicken will be smashed/penyet 1st b4 served,hence there's where the dish named after.
Well I shd say there's lots of ayam penyet versions here in S'pore especially the 'Sambal's.The ayam penyet actually originated frm Indonesia & it's getting veri fofular here. As 4 the malays they used chicken rice but 4 the indons they used white rice instead & have diff taste of sambals. We can choose either chicken,fish(bawal) or prawns 4 the dish.
The place was quite cosy & luv the avocado juice.Overall verdicts 4 this Waroeng Penyet 4**** starz
& we had an enjoyable dinner there.Will post other entries of Ayam Penyet later. :->
